P.5 & 6 celebrating the Season of Creation ๐ŸŒŽ

13th Oct 2023

We have really enjoyed celebrating the “Season of Creation” over the last few weeks, combining lots of Religion, ICT and World Around Us learning.

The Season of Creation is marked throughout the Christian world from 1 September to 4 October (Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi) and celebrates the joy of creation as well as encouraging awareness-raising initiatives to protect the natural environment.

We learned all about the life of St Francis of Assisi and created beautiful character portraits of him. We know that he is an example we should follow in how we care for creation. We had an opportunity to pray and meditate in a more unusual  way by thanking God for creation in a labyrinth prayer.

We also developed out ICT skills by using the Clips app to compose a collaborative prayer showing gratitude for the world that God has created for us! See the videos below!

“Saint Francis of Assisi expressed his love for God by caring for all of God’s creation.  He cared for the poor and sick, he cared for the animals and for nature.  May we follow his example and show our appreciation for Creation.  Thank you Saint Francis for giving us such good example”
